Carbon Fibre

Carbon fibre is known for being a strong and lightweight high-performance fibre. The fibre has exceptional electrical and thermal conductivity, whilst being highly resilient under stress with high chemical resistance.

These properties enable Carbon Fibre to be highly desirable for conductivity and reinforcement applications.

Carbon Fibre is produced by pyrolysis of an organic precursor fibre in an inert (oxygen free) atmosphere at temperatures above 1000 °C, this is called carbonisation.  Varying the temperature of the processing can mechanically influence the fibres during the pyrolysis process which in due course effects the arrangement of the carbon atoms, resulting in different grades of Carbon Fibre.

Davy Textiles can offer a range of Carbon Fibre with different strength, modulus and sizing properties to match your requirements.

We have great flexibility of cut lengths for short cut applications whilst offering recycled long fibre outlets for felts.
